Tae-seob, an orphan, believes his uncle to be his father and has worked without pay in his butcher shop all his life. When Tae-seob is about to get married, he asks for his share for the first time, but is rejected, and realizes that he has been exploited all his life. Enraged, Tae-seob accidentally witnesses his uncle's affair and uses it to blackmail him anonymously for money. However, his plan goes awry when he accidentally drowns his uncle in a river and makes him disappear. When his uncle returns, an unexpected figure rises from the river, entangling Tae-seob with the police and the affair's husband, and sending his life into a quagmire he can't escape.
