Barbara Anne Constable (born November 16 1966) is a British-born Australian actress best known for her unforgettable starring role as anthropologist Tania Wilson in the 1988 Indonesian cult-classic Sci-Fi Horror Action film, Lady Terminator. Barbara was born in London, Britain, but grew up in Australia, where she began her career as a highly skilled professional commercial dancer and choreographer. She received her training at the Queensland Dance School of Excellence, an Institution now associated with the Queensland University of Technology. Her career shifted dramatically after she sustained a severe injury to her right ankle, which precluded her from continuing classical dance. This pivotal event led her to transition into the world of modeling. Her early modeling work was notable, including an appearance in Australian Penthouse magazine as the November Pet of the Month when she was 19. It was during a modeling contract in Hong Kong that she was discovered and cast in Lady Terminator. Despite its B-movie status, the film garnered a significant cult following, cementing Constable's place in genre cinema history. Following her brief but impactful foray into acting, Barbara chose to step away from the limelight. She returned to Australia, where she embraced a private life, reportedly living in Brisbane and raising her two children. For many years, she was unaware of Lady Terminator's enduring cult status. After discovering the film's international popularity and the accompanying fan culture, she has since re-engaged with the cult cinema scene by granting interviews and sharing her unique experience with fans.
