Sara Gallego (Castellón, 1991) lives in Madrid. She studied Audiovisual Communication and in 2016 graduated in Cinematography from ECAM. She is a co-founder of SALEM. After finishing her studies, she began working as a focus puller, gaining experience on set while simultaneously starting her first projects as a director of photography. In 2018, she shot her first feature-length documentary, The Year of Discovery by Luis López Carrasco, which has enjoyed a long run at festivals and cinemas. Her most recent feature films are Killing Crabs (Tourmalet Films) and Counting Sheep (Aquí y Allí Films). She currently works on fiction, advertising, documentary, and music video projects. Sara understands photography as a universal narrative language endowed with great emotional and evocative power. The main driving force behind her work is sharing sensations and emotions through photography as a way to better understand ourselves and the world around us.
