Biography

Mariana Duarte is a filmmaker and editor whose work spans creative non-fiction and scripted film. A Berlinale Talents alumna, her films have screened at Aspen Shortfest, Edinburgh, Tiradentes, and Rio. Her short Headland (2024), commissioned by the Scottish Documentary Institute, won Best Mini-Doc at the Oscar-qualifying Big Sky Documentary Film Festival. She previously worked for six years at TV Globo and is completing a PhD by Practice in Film.
