
Mikyla Mae Alingasa is a third-year Digital Film student at Mapúa University - Makati, currently in her final year in the program. Throughout her journey in film school, she has taken on a wide range of roles across different aspects of production from pre-production to post-production, allowing her to become a versatile and well-rounded filmmaker. She believes her greatest strengths lie in her vision, leadership, and organizational skills, which guide her in bringing creative ideas to life and leading teams toward a unified artistic goal. She most frequently works within the art department as an art director, while also exploring writing, cinematography, and editing. As she continues to grow as a filmmaker, Mikyla has developed a deepening passion for producing and writing, discovering new ways to shape meaningful stories through collaboration and creativity. Her recent work as producer and writer for Isang Jeep Pa earned multiple distinctions, including the Jury Award at the Frames: Active Vista Human Rights Film Festival 2025, as well as Best Picture and Best Screenplay at the Cine Lagablove: UP Pride Film Festival 2025. Meanwhile, her experimental mixed-media animation film, Angono’s Finest Daycare, has been shortlisted for the Pelikultura 2025: Southern Tagalog Shorts Premiere Category at the University of the Philippines Los Baños. Currently working on her thesis film, Mikyla continues to refine her artistic voice, driven by empathy, social awareness, and a love for visual storytelling.
