My name is Jonah Retin, and I am a driven and result-oriented film professional specializing in cinematography, camera operation, and lighting. With experience across short films, commercials, music videos, and digital content, I have developed a strong foundation in visual storytelling while working with industry-standard cameras including Sony, Canon, ARRI, and Blackmagic. My passion lies in creating compelling visuals that elevate narratives and connect with audiences. Over the past several years, I have contributed to productions such as No Vacancy, the 2025 KIA EV9 commercial, and the Lu Kala "Work" Music Video, working in roles ranging from Camera Operator to Gaffer and Key Grip. These opportunities allowed me to collaborate closely with directors and DPs, manage lighting setups, handle rigging, and ensure on-set safety. In addition, my work with Pixel Playhouse and California State University, Northridge’s Department of Cinema & TV Arts has expanded my skills in behind-the-scenes production, project leadership, and creative design. Beyond technical expertise, I bring strong teamwork, adaptability, and leadership skills gained both on set and through management roles. I am proficient in DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro, with additional hands-on experience in post-production workflows. I thrive in fast-paced environments where collaboration and creative problem-solving are essential, and I am eager to continue growing as a cinematographer and camera operator while contributing to impactful film and media productions.
