Alain de la Mata is head of acquisitions for Goodfellas Films and director of the production company BlueLight. He was one of the founders of Wild Bunch. After studying in Bordeaux, Alain decided to move to London to pursue photography. In the English capital, he worked for music magazines (NME, Melody Maker, etc.) and numerous bands (The Clash, Peter Tosh, Stray Cats, etc.). He then founded his own label Vinyl Solution —on which the band Bizarre Inc. reached the top of the charts—and then a music publishing house specializing in independent music. Later, he turned to film, introducing Eastern genre and art-house cinema to Europe.
